Commissions

ABSTRACTS

The commission fee for an abstract painting is an additional 20% over the cost of the painting. For example, a painting priced in the $500 range would cost $600 if commissioned. Please email for detailed pricing information.

To request a commissioned abstract painting, please email me the following:
• Desired canvas size
• Two to four colors you would like featured in your finished painting
• Two to four colors you would like omitted, if applicable

You're also welcome to send room inspiration photos and/or color or fabric swatches if you think they will be helpful.

PORTRAITS

Please note that I do not paint formal seated portraits. I prefer to paint children in a loose, abstract style from photographs in their natural environments.

Single-figure portraits start at $600; images containing more than two people will be an additional $100 per figure.

Standard finished portrait size is 12" x 16", but different sizes may be available upon request. A $600 minimum is required regardless of size.

To request a commissioned portrait, please email me a photograph and include any specifications, such as color preferences or elements in the photo you would like omitted from the painting.

PAYMENT PROCESS

After I receive your emailed commission request, I will send you an invoice for the deposit (50% of the total). Once your deposit has been received, I will begin painting. Typical turnaround is four weeks from the time I start painting (I will notify you otherwise). Upon completion, I will send you a photo of your custom painting (or you are welcome to come to my Washington, D.C. studio to see it in person). At this point, one round of changes can be made if necessary — I want to make sure you are pleased with the finished piece! If everyone is happy, the remaining 50% is due upon receipt of the painting.

FRAMING

Framing is available upon request for an additional cost. My preferred framing style is a floater frame, which highlights the art by making it appear as if it is floating within the frame rather than being covered by it. Pricing varies according to size. Frame finishes available are white and natural (as seen above) as well as gold.

If you'd like more information about any of my paintings or have an interest in commissioning a piece, I'd love to hear from you!
